Tailored shirts in Bangkok

Yes, you can have shirts tailored here, and you do not have to come to a shop to do it. Shirts are cut to your own measurements and fitted at your hotel, your office or your home, anywhere in the city. This is the men's and unspecified side of ourbespoke tailoring in Bangkok; women's shirts have a page of their own.

Business shirts

A business shirt has to survive a working day in a climate that is against it. That puts the weight of the decision on cloth and on fit through the shoulder and the upper arm, which is where an off-the-peg shirt usually gives up first.

  • Collar shape specified to sit correctly with and without a tie
  • Sleeve and cuff set to your measurement, not to a size band
  • Body shaped through the waist rather than left boxy
  • Cloth chosen for how it behaves after four hours, not on the roll

Who this is for

  • Visitors ordering during a Bangkok trip
  • Expats living here who need a working wardrobe
  • Working professionals who cannot spend an afternoon in a shop
  • Returning customers reordering on measurements we already hold

Warm-weather and casual shirts

  • Open-weave cotton and linen for the hot months
  • Softer collars that hold their shape without a tie
  • Shorter point lengths and one-piece collars where you want them
  • Cut with more room through the body than a business shirt

How your shirt is measured

  1. We come to you with cloth, tape and the bunch books.
  2. Neck, chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve and cuff are measured directly, and your posture is noted — a dropped shoulder changes the pattern.
  3. You choose cloth, collar and cuff against the measurements taken.
  4. The first shirt is tried and adjusted before the rest of an order is cut, so corrections carry across the batch.
  5. Your measurements stay on file for reordering.

Cloth, and what survives 35 degrees

Most shirt pages list fabrics. The more useful question in this city is how a cloth behaves at thirty-five degrees with humidity behind it. A tight, high-count poplin looks expensive on the roll and stops moving air the moment you step outside. An open weave in a plainer cloth will out-perform it every day of the hot season.

  • Open-weave cottons: air moves through them, and they recover
  • Linen and linen blends: creases, and the crease is the point
  • Heavier poplins: better for air-conditioned offices than for the street

The trade-off is honest rather than free. An open weave is cooler and it is also more transparent, so a white one wants an undershirt or a heavier cloth in the same weave family. Linen creases within an hour of putting it on and no finish prevents that; the question is whether you want a cloth that looks lived in or one that looks pressed at six in the evening. We will tell you which of the two a cloth is before you choose it, rather than after.

The second year, and the fifth

A tailored shirt is worth more in its second year than its first, because by then it has been corrected. The measurements taken at the first fitting are kept, so a later order starts from a known pattern rather than from a tape measure again — and a body that has changed is a pattern adjustment, not a fresh start.

That is what the returning customers in our reviews are describing. One came back after six years and ordered again. Others order from overseas without returning at all, because the file is what the new order is cut from. It is also why the first fitting is worth the time it takes: everything after it is cheaper in effort.

  • Measurements held on file after the first order
  • Collar and cuff specifications recorded with them
  • A repeat order does not need another trip to Bangkok
  • Shirts you already own can be altered against the same pattern

Where we fit you

  • Your hotel, at a time that fits around the rest of the trip
  • Your office, between meetings
  • Your home, anywhere in Bangkok

Every competitor on this search is a shop you travel to. We are not, and that is the whole difference in how an order feels.

Questions we are actually asked

Can I get shirts tailored?
Yes. Shirts are cut to your own measurements rather than picked off a rail, and the first appointment happens where you are — your hotel, your office or your home, anywhere in Bangkok.
How many fittings does a shirt take?
Fewer than a jacket. A shirt is measured once, then tried and adjusted before the rest of an order is cut, so the corrections carry across every shirt in the batch.
Can you come to my hotel?
That is the normal way we work. Cloth, tape and the bunch books come to you, and we come back for the fitting rather than asking you to cross the city twice.
What is the difference between tailor-made and off-the-peg?
An off-the-peg shirt is cut to an average and then altered towards you. A tailored shirt starts from your measurements — collar, cuff, sleeve, shoulder and body are specified before anything is cut.
How many shirts do I need to order at once?
There is no minimum. Ordering two or three at a time is common simply because the measuring and the first fitting are done once and then apply to all of them, so the second and third shirt cost you no extra appointments.
Which cloth works in 35 degrees without looking cheap?
An open-weave cotton in a good quality yarn. The mistake is reaching for the tightest, smoothest cloth on the shelf because it feels expensive — that is the one that stops air moving. We will show you the difference in the hand before you choose.
Can you alter shirts I already own?
Usually yes, within limits. A shirt can be taken in through the body and the sleeve shortened; it cannot be made larger than the cloth allows, and a collar that is wrong cannot be rescued. Bring them to the fitting and we will tell you which is which.
Can I reorder from overseas later?
Yes. Your measurements stay on file after the first order, so a repeat order does not need another trip. Several of the reviews on our Google profile describe doing exactly that.
