About The Boss Tailor

The Boss Tailor is a bespoke tailoring business operating across Bangkok, Thailand, founded in 2016. It makes made-to-order suits, tailored shirts, trousers, blazers, waistcoats and overcoats for men and women, drafting a pattern from each customer’s own measurements rather than adjusting a stock size. It works as a service area business: measuring, fittings and delivery take place at the customer’s hotel, office or residence anywhere in Bangkok. Its customers are visitors buying tailoring during a trip, expatriates and working professionals living in the city, and returning customers reordering from measurements held on file. It holds a Google Business Profile rated 4.9 from 146 reviews, and publishes at tailortheboss.com. It holds no trade licence and no association membership, because Thailand does not license tailors and no such body exists for the trade in the country.

We hold no licence, and neither does anyone else

Thailand does not license tailors. There is no board, no register, no certificate — for us or for any shop you are comparing us against. We also hold no trade-association membership.

That is worth saying plainly, because an About page is where credentials normally go, and the absence of one here is a fact about the trade rather than a gap in ours. It also means the usual shortcut for judging a tailor does not exist in this country, and you are left with the harder questions instead — how the jacket is constructed, and whether you will see it half-made. Who does the work

Raj cuts and fits. "Master tailor" is the trade's own term for a senior cutter rather than a qualification anyone issues — see the paragraph above about licensing — and it is used here in that descriptive sense.

Other people work on these garments and customers name several of them warmly in reviews. They are not listed here, because we are not going to publish job titles for colleagues that nobody has confirmed. When we have them, they will appear.

How we work, and what changed

The business has always fitted customers where they are — hotels, offices and homes across the city — and in 2026 that became the whole model rather than one of two. Appointments are arranged by phone and everything comes to you: the cloth, the bunch books, the tape, and later the garment itself.

The reason is ordinary. A fitting is twenty minutes of work with an hour of Bangkok traffic on either side of it, and moving the appointment rather than the customer is simply the better arrangement for both of us. More on that inwhere we come to you.
