Tailoring for women
Suits, shirts, trousers, blazers and coats drafted from your own measurements — and measured and fitted where you are, rather than in a shop's shared fitting room. Part of ourbespoke tailoring in Bangkok.
The fitting happens in your own space
This is the part worth stating first, because it is the practical difference rather than a matter of style. We come to you: the measurements, every fitting and the finished garment all happen at your hotel, your office or your home, anywhere in Bangkok.
A shop fitting means a curtained corner in a room with other customers in it, and for a lot of people that is the whole reason having something made feels like more trouble than it is worth. Your own room is not that.
The measurements are taken by a male tailor — we do not currently have a female tailor, and you should know that here rather than when he arrives. If you would rather have someone with you, or want a particular time of day, say so when you call: it is an ordinary request and easier arranged at the booking than on the day. More on how the visits run inwhere we come to you.
Measured, not sized
Women's ready-to-wear sizing is inconsistent between brands in a way men's largely is not — a 10 in one label is a 14 in another, and neither was cut for your proportions. That inconsistency is the thing a drafted pattern removes entirely. There is no chart to fall on the wrong side of.
What gets recorded is your shape and how you stand: shoulder slope per side, back length, the relationship between waist and hip, the rise. Those notes stay with the pattern. More inhow we take your measurements.
What we make
- Suits, single or double breasted, trouser or skirt
- Shirts and blouses, to your own collar and cuff
- Trousers, cut to sit where you actually wear them
- Blazers and jackets as separates
- Overcoats, for travel to somewhere colder than this
The construction question applies exactly as it does to a man's jacket and matters just as much — seefull canvas, half canvas and fused.
Cloth, for this climate
The same argument as everywhere else on this site: the weave decides more than the fibre, and an open high-twist cloth will out-perform a denser one that feels more expensive in the hand. Linings matter more than weight. The whole of it is oncloth and construction andlinen and warm-weather cloth.
What to ask us, and anyone else
- Is the pattern drafted for me, or a stock block adjusted?
- Is the jacket front canvassed or fused?
- Will I try it on half-made, while the pattern can still change?
- Where will the fitting happen, and who will be there?
The fourth is as reasonable as the first three. Ask it.
How the process runs
The same sequence as any bespoke garment: measured, cut, tried on while it is still half-made, corrected on your body, then finished and brought to you. It is set out inhow a fitting works, and the men's side of the catalogue is under bespoke suits, tailored shirts andtrousers, blazers and separates.
Our record
That is the business's record across all of its work, and most of the reviews behind it describe menswear. We would rather say so than quote one of them here as though it were about a garment made for you. Read them yourself onthe Google profile, including the critical ones.

Questions we are actually asked
- Where can I find a women's tailor in Bangkok?
- You do not have to find one in the sense of travelling to it — The Boss Tailor comes to you, anywhere in Bangkok, with the cloth and the bunch books. That matters more for women's tailoring than it sounds, because it means the measuring and the fittings happen in your own hotel room, office or home rather than in a shop's shared fitting area. Call and say where you are and when suits you.
- What is a ladies tailor called?
- Historically a dressmaker, as distinct from a tailor who cut for men, and the two were genuinely separate trades with different training. That distinction has largely dissolved in modern bespoke: the pattern drafting, the canvas, the fittings and the corrections are the same craft applied to a different body. You will still see both words used, and "tailor" now covers the work for anyone.
- Where can I find tailor-made women's clothing in Thailand?
- Bangkok has a large tailoring trade and most of it is oriented toward men, which is why this question gets asked so often. What you are looking for is the same thing you would look for in a men's tailor: a pattern drafted from your measurements rather than a stock block adjusted, a fitting that happens while the garment is still half-made, and a straight answer about how the jacket is constructed.
- Who are the best tailors for women in Bangkok?
- Not a question anyone selling tailoring should answer about themselves. The checkable version: ask whether the pattern is drafted for you, whether the jacket front is canvassed or fused, and whether you will see the garment half-made before it is finished. Ask also where the fitting happens and who will be present — that is a reasonable question and any tailor should answer it without hesitation.
- Who will measure me, and where?
- A male tailor takes the measurements — we do not have a female tailor, and it is better that you know that here than on the doorstep. Where is entirely yours to choose: your hotel room, your office or your home, rather than a shared fitting room in a shop. If you would prefer to have someone with you, or want a particular time of day, say so when you call and we will arrange it. It is an ordinary request and nobody will find it odd.
