Starting from scratch remotely means someone measuring themselves, which is the weakest input a tailor can work from and the honest answer is to say so rather than take the order.

If your shape has changed in between, say so when you order and we will adjust the draft rather than pretend it has not.

What about shipping and import duty?

Being in the room is worth more than any amount of correspondence, so the sensible approach is to be measured and order broadly while you are in Bangkok — including the things you are only half sure about — and then use the pattern for the rest afterwards. What comes out of a first appointment is not a list of measurements. It is a pattern — a drafted shape, with notes beside it about how you stand, which shoulder sits lower, and the collar, cuff and lapel decisions you made.

The row that matters is the third one. Self-measuring is not impossible and it is genuinely worse: the two variables that decide whether a jacket hangs clean are your posture and how firmly the tape is pulled, and both are close to impossible to judge on your own body in a mirror.

Why we would rather you ordered broadly while you are here
